Art Academy. 4 o’clock in the morning: this is the time when the path to my unconscious world is free… I have painted most of my milestone works during dawns… The students of the Munich Academy had the opportunity to work until the morning… This academy never slept at night. It was a turning point and a fruitful period in my life. My interest and goal in art is not to convey what is normal to the naked eye, but to capture and reveal visual icons of invisible and unnamed sensations.”
